Adding comments is a great way to collaborate with others working on the same document. Click on any of the sections below to learn more, or watch this short video.

Add a comment to an object

  1. Right click on the object.

  2. Select ‘Add Comment’ at the bottom of context menu or simply click ‘comments’ at the bottom of the editor to begin adding comments.

  3. If you are on a Team, you can notify a teammate of the comment by typing @ + any of the letters in the user's name, and selecting the user's email address from the prompt. Type your comment, and press 'Enter.'

  4. We will check to see if mentioned users have access to your document, and let you choose a permission level for those who don’t.

Open comments tab and view all comments in a document

  1. Deselect all objects (click somewhere there is not an element to ensure no elements are selected).

  2. Open the ‘Comments’ bar in the bottom right corner by single-clicking on it.

View comments on an object

  1. Open the ‘Comments’ bar in the bottom right corner and toggle the slider to 'ON.'
  2. View the comment on a single object by clicking on the blue comment icon, or click the black bar to view all comments.

Enable/Disable comments in a document

  1. On the comments list, toggle the On/Off option. This allows you to hide or show all the comments on the document.

Resolve a comment

  1. Open the comment list.

  2. Click ‘Resolve’ by the comment you wish to hide. The comment will no longer show unless the ‘Show Resolved Comments’ option is toggled and will no longer show the blue speech bubble in the upper left corner of an object.

Reply to a comment

  1. Open the comment list.
  2. Select the comment from the list of comments by single-clicking on it, OR
  3. Hit 'Reply' on any comment on the list.
  4. Enter text as if you were entering a new comment. Your reply will be linked to the original comment.

Reassign a comment

  1. Open the comment list.

  2. Click ‘Reassign’ by the comment you want to move to a new block.

  3. Select the new block for the comment on your screen by single-clicking the object.

Reopen a resolved comment

  1. Open the comment list.

  2. Toggle the ‘Show Resolved Comments’ at the bottom of the list.

  3. Click ‘Reopen’ by the comment you wish to show again.

Edit a comment

  1. Open the comment list.

  2. Move the cursor over the comment and click ‘Edit’, under the comment.

  3. Make the desired changes and press the Enter key.

Delete a comment

  1. Open the comment list.

  2. Move the cursor over the comment and click ‘Delete’, under the comment.

  3. If it is an original comment (not a response to another comment), you will be prompted to confirm. Click ‘OK’ to confirm your choice. This will delete the entire thread of comments (the selected comment and all its replies).
